We are delighted to announce the recipients of the 2025 LEAGUE Foundation scholarship grants, we wish them every success as they start their new academic careers. Learn more about the winners:
Brandon Groth (NE): Matthew Shepard Memorial Scholarship ($3,000)
Brandon will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, this scholarship will help support his goal of attending dental school and improving oral health in the community.
Violet Krol (IL): Laurel Hester Memorial Scholarship ($3,000)
This Foundation scholarship will help Violet's continuing education as a freshman at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and finding a place in its LGBTQ community.
Kaeleigh A. Avers (OR): Frank Duracher Memorial Scholarship ($3,000)
Kaeleigh will use this scholarship to attend Western Oregon University, fulfil her dream to become an artist, and pursue a career as a graphic novelist.
Talia Ector (GA): Tyler Clementi Memorial Scholarship ($3,000)
This Foundation scholarship will help fulfil Talia's dream of attending Spelman College and pursuing a career as a pediatrician, caring for future generations and improving healthcare for LGBTQ+ children.
Finn Moran (CA): LEAGUE Foundation Scholarship ($2,000)
As a nuclear engineering major at the University of California - Berkeley, Finn will pursue a career in nuclear medicine or clean energy. This scholarship will help him make a positive impact through science and innovation. 
Kate Pursley (TX): LEAGUE Foundation Scholarship ($2,000)
Kate is headed to the University of Texas in Austin where this scholarship will help her kickstart a career in journalism with added confidence.
Veronica Rojas (CA): LEAGUE Foundation Scholarship ($2,000)
Veronica's scholarship will enable her to pursue her clinical studies towards a degree in nursing at the University of San Francisco, to become the first nurse in her family, and to give back to community.
Gianella "Gigi" Tijamo (CA): LEAGUE Foundation Scholarship ($2,000)
Gianella is heading to the University of California - Merced where she will be joining the women's volleyball team and majoring in Communications with focus in Media Production. This scholarship will support her dream to play collegiate volleyball. After college, Gianella plans to join the film industry, eventually making movies that highlight underrepresented groups such as the LGBTQ+ community. 
Carli Waddell (MN): LEAGUE Foundation Scholarship ($2,000)
Carli's dream career is connecting arts to the community. This scholarship will support the next step in their education at Saint Olaf College.
Katie Wright (TX): LEAGUE Foundation Scholarship ($2,000)
Katie is on a mission to make healthcare more equitable, this scholarship will help her start that quest at University of California - San Diego to study Global Health, to ensure healthcare is accessible and attainable for all.
